Some sources says that it is safe if you are not suffering form celiac disease. Some sources says that it is gluten is harmful for many people. first let us understand what is gluten.

What is gluten?

Gluten is protein family found in wheat, barley, grains.

Gluten consist of two main protein glutenin and gliadin. In which gliadin is a protein which is responsible for bad effect of gluten.

When you add water to flour it gets sticky. The sticky thing which you see is gluten. It swells & form like a glue which holds the dough together.

As you bake the dough it become bread. It is the protein which make the dough to rise up. It also give the dough softness and chewy nature when baked.

Gluten bad effects

Gluten is tolerable in healthy person. but some people who have gluten sensitivity, celiac disease or wheat allergy cant tolerate gluten

Some foods which contain gluten are mentioned below

  1. Breads – Whole wheat bread
  2. Pasta- Whole wheat pasta
  3. Cereal
  4. Flour tortillas
  5. Baked goods
  6. Beers

Some gluten free diet or gluten free food are mentioned below

  1. Fruits
  2. Vegetables
  3. Fish
  4. Meat
  5. Beans
  6. Seeds
  7. Nuts
